At TapFuse, we deliver awesome software tech solutions for events. Our software helps events organisers to efficiently plan and execute complex events; engage with delegates before, during and after the events; including through powerful analytics and automation; and enable wifi-connectivity at events. In a beautiful, simple and intuitive way, saving event managers tons of time and money, and providing memorable and engaging experience for event delegates.

Established in 2013, and having received investments from Annection and Jenson Funding Partners (London based VC), we have initially successfully focused on providing software solution for small to medium-sized events (50-500 delegates). Having recently teamed up with Simpli-Fi, including receiving strategic investment from them, not only we have expanded our product solution portfolio, but we are now ready also to tackle larger events and corporates, which is on our agenda for this year.

Business Development Executive

Job description:

A recent dynamic partnership has created the opportunity for TapFuse to offer a unique all-encompassing connectivity solution for the events industry. We are looking for the right individual to take the “Better Connected Events” proposition to the event industry. We now seek a Business Development Executive to sell both event app software and Wi-Fi and connectivity solutions to the event industry.

As a Business Development Executive, you are the first point of contact for clients and partners. You are the one that sets the tone from the first engagement with our company and will provide both our clients and partners with the information and insight they need. This means you will be adept at selling the value, ethos and culture of our company with each client or partner.

In this role you will be responsible for setting appointments with the right decision makers at both direct clients and partners. You will be selling to event organisers, event agencies, global corporates and associations. This typically includes positioning our services to Marketing Directors, Head of Events, Event Managers, Heads of Digital, Heads of Technology and at times the Chief Technology Officer. You will use a variety of prospecting methods to qualify, garner information, build familiarity and book appointments daily. Prospecting methods could include phone, email, text, social media, video, content and in-person events.

We do competitor research to ensure that we maintain our competitive and sustainable advantage. If successful in this role, you will have the opportunity to become a fully-fledged Business Development Manager.

About us:

TapFuse are a software development company, specialising in the event sector and offering a fully customisable Event Management and Engagement Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) which brings attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, presenters and event organisers closer together through digital awareness, collaboration, engagement and the ability to share rich content, all in real time. Our focus has been on the small and medium sized events 50-500 delegates, targeting professional event companies and associations that host multiple events per year. We are now looking to expand our offering into the larger events and corporate markets.

Job Requirements:

  • To exceed monthly / quarterly appointment targets by driving new opportunities and selling hardware and software connectivity solutions into enterprise accounts within the Events sector.
  • The capability to manage the your time effectively and ensure you deliver against key performance metrics, with a strong emphasis on new business appointments, while expanding existing accounts.
  • Pipeline development through a combination of cold calling, email campaigns, social media, content and market sector knowledge/intelligence.
  • Engage with prospective customers to position Better Connected Solutions through strategic value based consultative selling.
  • Manage early stage sales process from engagement of appropriate internal resources such as Operations Managers, Content Managers, Developers and Partners etc.
  • Generate short term results whilst maintaining a long term perspective to maximise overall client acquisition.
  • Daily update of the Salesforce system with accurate customer and pipeline data .
  • Provide accurate monthly forecasting and revenue delivery.

You will need:

  • Relevant experience of selling professional services or software solutions.
  • Experience of successfully building net new business.
  • Demonstrable track record of over achievement.
  • Credibility at all levels and evidence of building strong relationships internally and with customers.
  • Knowledge and success of booking appointments on a weekly basis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Territory identification and research, to formalise a go to market territory strategy and create qualified target account list within 30 days.
  • Create strategy to target accounts with Sales team.
  • Develop new business opportunities via telephone, email, and social media interactions to fuel the sales pipeline.
  • Follow up on leads and conduct research to create and maintain a database of contacts for current and future prospects.
  • Execute meetings and demonstrations with new prospects.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly appointment quotas.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Passion for PaaS/SaaS technology, startups and great customer service
  • Ideally, experience in a technology or professional services sales.
  • Desire to develop a career in business development.
  • Ability to build and retain client relationships.
  • Have met or exceeded personal/team goals in past positions.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management within the client organisation.
  • Excellent language, communication and presentation skills to effectively explain a solution to a customer's problems.
  • Detailed, organised and results oriented.
  • Ability to learn, accept feedback, and assimilate technical information quickly.
  • Interested in continually developing your Sales, presentation and meeting skills on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Willingness to travel.
